Valrhona awarded B Corporation certificate.

French chocolatiers, Valrhona, have been awarded a prestigious B Corporation certificate, after meeting exacting standards, and proving their business worth in the social and environmental impact of their cocoa production.

Valrhona join an illustrious collection of businesses and High St names like The Body Shop, Innocent and Ben & Jerry’s, in achieving the award.

From some 80,000 that have been evaluated, only 3,400 companies, spread across 71 countries and 150 industries, currently hold the B Corporation certificate, which legally requires them to consider the impact of their decisions on customers, suppliers, communities and the environment, as well as their workers.

These businesses meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance.

Valrhona scored an impressive 88.3 points in the evaluation, whose average score is 50.9.
