La Laguna – the latest single-plantation, dark chocolate bar from Michel Cluizel & created using fine flavour cocoa grown on the La Laguna plantation in Guatemala.

Guatemala lies in Central America, sandwiched between Mexico to the north and Honduras & El Salvador to the south.

It's on the same path as Belize & the Caribbean, which are also renowned cocoa growing regions.

Guatemala was the birthplace of one of America’s oldest civilisations – The Mayans. Considered by some to be the homeland of cocoa; today, the cocoa farmers continue to grow and plant following their ancient principles, using natural farming methods, which respect the terroir and its traditions.

Why is Single Plantation chocolate so prized?

Single origin chocolate has always been the domain of the top, bean to bar (cacaofevier) chocolate makers. The pure form of the chocolate allows chocolatiers to really showcase their talents and skills as they unlock the many exciting and charismatic flavours of the cocoa from each harvest.

Chocolate makers proudly display the quality of cocoa they use to create the chocolate, and even highlight the name of the plantation or estate the cocoa originated from by name.

Single Plantation chocolate is considered by many to be the ultimate in fine chocolate. As the name suggests, the cocoa is sourced from a singular cocoa plantation rather than a single cocoa growing region (single origin).

La Laguna, dark chocolate bar offers an outstanding flavour profile, with notes of plum, yellow fruits and roasted cocoa.

Low acidity, medium bitterness & roast with a slightly higher fruit, flavour profile, and a cocoa content of 70%. La Laguna is made without soya lecithin and only pure cocoa butter and natural Bourbon vanilla.
