The current Great British Bake Off series is certainly producing some surprises and no small amount of controversy (online anyway) about judges decisions.

It all makes for great television and as a previous participant on Ready Steady Cook in 1999, your editor knows you just have to enjoy the experience (even if it was an uncomfortable struggle carrying a hamper across London in rush-hour).
