Chocolate By Post in a Jiffy

We're often asked why we "don't dispatch chocolate bar orders in those padded, 'Jiffy' bags". Here's why...

Below is a picture of a Chocolate Novelty Tin which has been through the postal service, packed in just a padded envelope.

As you can see, it suffered extensive damage & crushing.

This is why all of our luxury chocolate orders are dispatched in sturdy boxes instead of padded envelopes. Even chocolate bars suffer breakages / get snapped or lose their bar wrappers in envelopes.

Chocolate selection boxes can suffer from crushed corners and loss of plastic wraps.

When the temperatures are high, we resort to using larger than normal packing outer's and more of our 100% bio-degradable loose filler.

Whilst this appears wasteful to some customers, the bio-degradable nature of our loose fill means it can safely be composted in your food recycling. Plastic lined padded envelopes can be tricky to recycle but our sturdy cardboard outers, being made from recycled card, can be easily recycled.

We don't recommend 'cool-packs' for dispatch as, when we tested some ice-packed chocolate bar deliveries to ourselves (in a variety of different boxes, envelopes & delivery methods), the results were the same. Moisture from the cold-packs had left water-marks on the bar wrappers and shrunk the bio-degradable packaging, so that the container wasn't properly 'full' and providing adequate cushioning.

Chocolatiers go to great lengths over the design and feel of their individual packaging, and we try to preserve the whole chocolate experience as much as possible, when sending any chocolate by post or courier.

The cool packs didn't last very long either on the Standard Delivery options.
