Making our Deliveries as Green as Possible

We share our customers concerns about the environment and go to great lengths to ensure our chocolate deliveries are as environmentally friendly as possible.

One of the most common feedback themes we receive from customers is why we use so much 'polystyrene' packaging 'peanuts'?

The white 'peanut' shaped packaging is in fact a 100% bio-degradable packaging cleverly derived from Maize starch (so its even safe to handle for people with wheat allergies).

It has superb green credentials and can be safely composted in your food waste bin or compost heap.

It also has great insulating properties, making it ideal for securely packaging your delicate chocolate orders with.

When the weather does turn hot, we do tend to use slightly larger cardboard outers than normal and more of our bio-degradable loose filler, to add extra protection from the heat, to help ensure your chocolate order arrives in perfect condition.

On very rare occasions, we may have to resort to lining with additional sheet polystyrene, but this is very extreme.

Our 'Green' efforts don't stop there.

Our cardboard packaging outers are sourced from recycled cardboard and any additional packaging like bubble-wrap or pillow-pack is recycled from our own chocolatier deliveries. Where deliveries arrive to us on wooden pallets; these are re-used or recycled.

We believe we've perfected the right balance to make sure your chocolate arrives in the best possible condition and using the most environmentally friendly materials.
