World Chocolate Day – 10th Anniversary.

World Chocolate Day, celebrated throughout the World on the 7th July, by indulging a passion for chocolate.

Not to be confused with the The U.S. National Confectioners Association who list 13 September* as ‘International Chocolate Day’.

But who needs a reason to celebrate & consume chocolate?

From ‘healthy’ dark chocolate bars with higher cocoa percentages to the sweetest white and milk chocolate bars, there really is a chocolate for everyone.

The last few years have seen a growth in smaller, bean-to-bar chocolate makers, introducing chocolates that are organic / soya free / dairy free / vegan etc, to cater to the widest possible audience – even those with strict dietary requirements, so no-one should feel left out this World Chocolate Day.

Those not content with merely eating chocolate, but cooking with it, are also faced with a myriad of different chocolate couvertures to choose from. Flavoured chips (callets), single origin chocolate and high cocoa content couvertures are all readily available to buy online from Chocolate Trading Co.

World Chocolate Day is a great opportunity to explore different chocolate, cocoa origins and the unique flavor profiles each growing region produces. Why not try a chocolate tasting gift set or chocolate bar hamper? We have several to choose from. They make a great talking point or after-dinner discussion as you and your guests savour the different flavours. Perhaps you could play ‘guess the origin’?

Cocoa has been revered since the Inca’s and with good reason. It has the power to make us feel better, just by tasting a small square, or drinking it in a hot chocolate drink. Now that really is something to celebrate.
