Dark Chocolate Bars - Valrhona's Alpaco & Tainori

With over 175 different, luxury dark chocolate bars to choose from (that's enough to try a different dark chocolate bar every day for nearly half-a-year!); single origin, single estate, blends, etc. we take a look at what makes each dark chocolate bar we sell unique.

In Episode 1, we review Valrhona's Alpaco & Tainori dark chocolate bars.

Valrhona Alpaco, 66% Dark Chocolate Bar.

This single-origin chocolate bar is created from Arriba Nacional cocoa beans from Ecuador.

With its 66% cocoa content, it offers deep cocoa strength that's perfectly balanced with the lighter floral notes of orange blossom and jasmine.

The flavour profile is low acidity with medium bitterness, fruit tones and roast. Suitable for vegetarians.

"The Alpaco bar from Valrhona is a classic, single origin bar with a long lasting taste to be savoured".

Valrhona Tainori 64% Dark Chocolate Bar.

Another single-origin dark chocolate bar, created from Trinitario cocoa from the Dominican Republic.

64% cocoa content, the flavour profile is full of yellow fruit with notes of roasted almonds.

The flavour profile is medium acidity, low bitterness and high fruit & roast tones. Suitable for vegetarians.

"After receiving a box of Grand Crus tasting squares as a gift, I'm converted to fine chocolate. I particularly enjoyed this Tainori bar - not too high a cocoa content (for someone with a sweet tooth), and so full of flavour".

About Valrhona...

French master chocolate makers since 1922. Valrhona select & purchase their cocoa beans directly from choice cocoa plantations, ensuring an exclusive supply of Grand Crus from South America, the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean.

Valrhona was one of the first chocolatiers to describe their chocolate in a similar fashion to wine, with labelling such as grand crus, single origin, single estate and even vintage chocolate bars.

Valrhona is regarded as being amongst the best of the few French chocolate makers, creating their chocolate from bean-to-bar (cacaofevier).
