Description

Valrhona Guanaja, 70% dark chocolate bar is created from a blend of Trinitario and Criollo cocoa beans from the island of Guanaja in the Caribbean. This provides a powerful flavoured, single origin chocolate with reduced acidic taste. The Valrhona Guanaja chocolate bar is a noticeably lingering chocolate with intensity and great depth of flavour.

Since 1922 the vocation of Valrhona has been to create exceptional gourmet chocolate, while respecting the artisan's know-how and fine French taste. Dedicated to quality, Valrhona selects and purchases its cocoa beans directly from choice plantations, thus securing an exclusive supply of Grand Crus from South America, the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean. Valrhona was one of the first chocolatiers to describe their chocolate in a similar fashion to wine with the labelling of such creations as grand cru, single origin, single estate and even vintage chocolate. Valrhona is regarded as being amongst the best of the few French chocolate makers today creating their chocolate from bean to bar (cacaofevier).

5Absolute perfection!

Guanaja is a velvety smooth dark chocolate bar from Valrhona and one to savour. Previously enjoyed as a bar received in a dark chocolate bar package, and now one we feel confident enough in ordering online on its own. Even a few single bars still arrive well packaged and protected. We can't recommend this bar enough. T.T.

5Absolute perfection!

Valrhona Guanaja is a dark chocolate bar that never fails to satisfy my craving for dark chocolate. The balance of flavours, the bitterness and sweetness, combine to produce a wonderful chocolate experience that will not disappoint.

The Chocolate Trading Company have made it easy to order really superior chocolate online. Delivery charges were reasonable (you get a choice of several postage options including next day delivery if you really can't wait) and my order was packed with the care and attention, the precious chocolate within deserved.

5Absolute perfection!

After placing an online order for the dark chocolate bar bundle, the Valrhona Guanaja (a 70% dark chocolate but not with the bitterness you might expect from the cocoa percentage) has become quickly become our favourite.

Whatever else we may order from the Chocolate Trading Co, whose service and packaging is always superb, we always include a bar.

5Absolute perfection!

A true dark chocolate lover will find this bar charmingly mellow; someone with a taste for sweeter chocolates should find it mellow enough. It possesses an unusually velvety mouthfeel: no distracting acidity, no intruding bitterness, no simplifying sweetness. Its lasting smoothness is quite seductive and it is hard to stop. This is not an 'impact chocolate', this is the one for that rare moment of relaxation when you can close your eyes and enjoy the delicate treasure of its taste.

5Absolute perfection!

This is the one chocolate bar we come back to time and time again from Valrhona. A really full flavour dark chocolate without the sweeteness of the lower cocoa percentages, which is to my personal taste. We also really like the Amedei 70% toscano black chocolate bar, again for the same reason but quite different flavours really. We have yet to taste Pralus which has been highly recommended and I see their are some really different notes for each of their origins. I love this website, great for presents as well as my new chocolate tasting hobby, well done!
