This very interesting chocolate bar from Duffy's has a strong treacle flavour with equal prominent notes of liquorice and raisins. A caramalised sweetness, packed with flavour with a bitter edge.
About Duffy's Chocolate
Duffy's chocolate, from Red Star Ltd in Lincolnshire, is one of only a few true bean to bar chocolate makers (cacaofevier) in the UK. Duffy's chocolate is made from a single year’s harvest of fine flavour cocoas and from single origins from around the world. The finished chocolate bars created by Duffy are unique in their flavour profile from one years harvest to the next without any intention to homogenise. Duffy's chocolate does not contain soya lecithin and as pure as fine chocolate should be, with diverse flavour profiles, bursting with full flavoured characters.

To my personal taste this chocolate bar appeared a little flat. Yes, there are fruits and liquorice but they are somewhat stale, muted and ordinary. I would not even compare it to any Pralus chocolate bar, for example. It tastes more like that chocolate you can get in a supermarket. Again, it is a very personal opinion, but I assume that if you like complex deep flavours of the many other wonderful chocolates on this site, you might find this one lacking.
