Two great London traditions have been combined in a
delicious new chocolate truffle from Charbonnel et Walker.
A dark chocolate shell, filled with a fine white chocolate
& cream ganache, has been skilfully balanced with Sipsmith Gin and natural
juniper to create their mouth-watering new, Sipsmith Gin Truffles.
Charbonnel et Walker was founded in 1875 and is one of
Britain’s earliest chocolatiers. Mrs Walker, encouraged by Edward VII (the then
Prince of Wales), formed a partnership with Mme. Charbonnel of the Maison
Boissier chocolate house in Paris. They are still located in Bond Street to
this day and endorsed by the Royal Warrant as chocolate manufacturers to Her
Majesty The Queen.
Sipsmith Gin is the first new copper pot distillery to open
its doors in London since 1820, and brings with it a great tradition of small
batch, hand crafted, gin production, back to the capital where Gin first earnt
its name.
This renaissance in Gin distilling is thanks to two friends from
Cornwall, passionate about producing a spirit of uncompromising quality and
character. They were joined by renowned drinks aficionado Jared Brown as their
Master Distiller, and their mission to create the world’s best London Dry Gin
began.
