Created exclusively from cocoa beans from the Mangaro plantation in Madagascar. This fine dark chocolate bar is possibly the most exotic of all the Michel Cluizel single origin range. The Mangaro provides a well balanced range of citrus fruits with an underlying edge of ginger to aid depth and character. The Mangaro is one of six, single origin chocolate bars created by Michel Cluizel.

Michel Cluizel's own description of the Mangaro dark chocolate bar:
Located on the island of Madagascar at the heart of the Indian Ocean, in the rich valley of the river Sambirano, this plantation flourishes on the island of a former mango tree forest. The beans of these cocoa trees have enabled me to develop a highly flavoured chocolate, blending aromas of exotic fruits, delicious flavours of honey spice cake and acidulated hints of citrus fruits.

The Mangaro bar does have a tropical fruit flavour profile with many notes, none of which are red fruits if that makes sense - more mango, pineapple with a slight spicy edge. The Mangaro chocolate tates completely opposite to the Michel Cluizel Maralumi which is definitley more red berries.

What a beautiful chocolate and so very different. The abundance of fruit flavour is quite amazing and completely new to me. I detected a mango flavour to the bar but did I have the name "Mangaro" in my head - I shall have to try again just to see! I have yet to experience the other Michel Cluizel bars but if this is anything to go by I cannot wait.

I just received my selection of Michel cluizel chocolates by post and I particularly want to mention the concepcion bar as I found it soooo nice. I think Elaine is right with the mango flavour in there and it does definitely have a general tropical fruit character to it. I really get the ginger too, quite amazing all these different flavours in one bar. I did buy all of the Michel Cluizel estate bars as well as some Amedei gifts and bars so im going to open one every week and really savour them. How exciting. Really love the website by the way.
