This latest dark chocolate bar from Pralus is created from Amelonado cocoa (Forastero variety) from the island of Epi within the island chain of Vanuatu, South Pacific.
A smooth and smokey dark chocolate bar with tobacco and coffee notes. Long on the palate and well balanced. A dark chocolate bar suited to those not prefering a high fruit, acidulous chocolate experience.
Pralus, situated in Roanne, France, are one of the few chocolate houses creating chocolate direct from the cocoa bean. Owner, François Pralus, produces chocolate of exceptional quality, achieving accolades from The Grand Prix d’Excellence International du Chocolat and the Grand Prix du Festival International du Chocolat.

This chocolate bar is quite unlike anything else. I have tried roughly a half of dark chocolate bars on this site by now, and this one has a truly unique taste. It has smoky, intense, multi- layered depth and superbly long creamy finish. People who only like fruity light tastes will probably find it too heavy. It will not please everyone's palate but if subtle tobacco tones sound alluring to you, you will enjoy this chocolate.

At first I didn't like this at all. It was smokey and spicy and mellow. None of the vibrancy of the Venezuela. However, the more I tasted, the more I liked and actually it's probably better than some of the other bars as it isn't sweet. One for chilling out!
