Amedei - Porcelana, 70% dark chocolate bar

This has to be the most expensive chocolate bar I have ever purchased. But I have to admit that it was almost worth every penny as it tastes superb. As one of my chocolate critic friends said yup its good alright rich and very smooth and well balanced and I fully agree with that.

I couldnt resist a couple of squares of this before I was meant to be tasting it later tonight. The flavour is so delicate yet so exquisite, the name sums it up completely. It seems light and fragile and before you know it, it's gone with just a hint of the roasted almonds left behind. Nice to have a couple of squares with an espresso. A bar that deserves to be tried and savoured but probably best experienced every now and then to remind you of how sumptious good chocolate can be.

I hadn't eaten chocolate for 6 months when I was given this as a present with the suggestion that I eat no more than 1 square a day. I love it - one square is very satisfying and I can feel it doing me good - something i have never felt with chocolate before! It has a lovely flavour, not bitter, not sweet, but a wonderful richness and it doesn't upset my blood sugars! Yum.

Perhaps I missed the point on this chocolate bar somewhat, I don't know. Perhaps its name speaks louder than its flavour. It was a very nice chocolate but to my taste not as flavoursome as many of the other bars I have tried from here. Perhaps I don't get the refinement and go for bigger flavours altogether. Its very cool the bars are limited edition and hand numbered however as it will make a great little gift for someone who has everything. Comparatively though it wasn't a wow for me.
