5Absolute perfection!

Great 100%, a blend of different cocoas which is sweetish in the palate and rich in fruity flavours. Price is also ok-ish.

If you are new to 100% chocolates, no doubt this is the one to start with.

5Absolute perfection!

Just starting to try 100% cocoa bars for the first time. Ordered 3 different ones to sample. This one - 'Chocolat' madagascar, 'Pralus' and 'the grenada chocolate company".

First thoughts: a completely different, unrelated, eating experience from sugar-containing chocolate.

Second thoughts: surprise at how very different they are all from each other!! This one - 'Cocolat' madagascar - is by far my favourite - its strong fruity flavours gives a sense of welcome sweetness and is not at all on the sour or too bitter end. Its texture is perfect - smooth, yet firm and crumbly, breaks down slowly in the mouth, eventually melting nicely.

The 'Grenada' bar has a good texture - quite paste like as it breaks down in the mouth; the taste is quite bitter and particularly sour, a strong flavour that may be enjoyable if you are ok with sourness.

The 'Pralus' bar has a waxy texture that I find blocks the flavours and makes the chocolate melt too quickly. It is also quite sour and bitter but perhaps I'm just not used to or suited to this aspect of 100% cocoa; I dont however particularly like the flavours in this chocolate compared to the other two.

This 'Chocolat' madagascar bar is for me by far the best of the the three.

I would however recommend trying them all to find what suits individual tastes. I'm going to try more on the next order - a fun excuse to eat a lot of chocolate!

5Absolute perfection!

This bar is great. It has very unique sour fruity flavours. As it says on the packaging there are flavours of forest fruits. It's very smooth, not very bitter and the flavours are rich and intense, but it may be too sour for some. I've never been disappointed with Madagascan chocolate bars, are they are always full of interesting flavours.

5Absolute perfection!

As a Diabetic, I'm always looking for new no added sugar chocolate to try, which usually means I'm restricted to the purest 100% cocoa bars like this one from Chocolat Madagascar.

A great tasting bar with all the fruity notes you associate with Madagascan chocolate unhindered by any other ingredients. I think anyone who loves dark chocolate would not be disappointed by this bar.

A big thank you to the Chocolate Trading Company for continuing to expand their range of 100% cocoa content bars.
