Description

A rare, high cocoa, dark/milk chocolate bar with 65% cocoa content so certainly not the usual sweet and creamy recipe many are used to. A reduced sugar, milk chocolate with a punch created with cocoa from the Indonesian island of Java.

About Bonnat Chocolatier

The Bonnat family has been creating chocolates since 1884 from the town of Voiron in France. Bonnat is the oldest family-run chocolate company in France today and is steeped in history and thrives on its family traditions and nostalgia. Bonnat has changed very little along the way compared to many brands but has continued to expand the Bonnat brand throughout the world. It was Raymond Bonnat who in the early 1980’s began the pioneering approach of making the single origin chocolate bars at Bonnat we see today. Many of these 'Grand Crus' have won prestigious awards around the world.

5Absolute perfection!

I was intrigued by a milk chocolate with such a high cocoa content and as part of an order of several high cocoa content milk bars, expected this one to be my least favourite. However, after trying several different bars from diferent chocolate makers and trying to be objective, I decided that this Bonnat bar was my favourite for its pure cocoa strength, hence its 5 stars.

2A little disappointing

I was somewhat disappointed by this chocolate. I was hoping for a strong chocolate flavour, but with any bitterness taken off by the milk etc. This variety barely has any flavour and is a little greasy.

Worth a try, you might like it but it's not for me. Green and Blacks 37% has a much richer flavour and Willies milk of the Gods variety is even better still.
